Komen Southwest Ohio is the local source for funding breast cancer detection, support and educational awareness in our 21 county service area. Through its 2015-2016 community grants, Komen Southwest Ohio is investing $366,170 in education, diagnosis, treatment and support programs here in the greater Cincinnati area provided by 8 local organizations that serve uninsured or underinsured residents in our service area. Additionally, $150,000 was awarded to Sponsored Research of Joan Garrett, PhD at the University of Cincinnati. Since it was founded in 1997, Komen Greater Cincinnati has invested more than $10.3 million in local breast health agencies and organizations.
The funds Komen Southwest Ohio grants to community programs in our 21-county service area have made a positive difference in the lives of those living with this deadly disease.
The counties we serve include the following: Adams, OH; Brown, OH; Boone, KY; Butler, OH; Campbell, KY; Clermont, OH; Clinton, OH; Darke, OH; Dearborn, IN; Gallatin, KY; Grant, KY; Greene, OH; Hamilton, OH; Highland, OH; Kenton, KY; Miami, OH; Montgomery, OH; Ohio, IN; Preble, OH; Switzerland, IN, and Warren, OH.
During the 2015-2016 grant cycle, Komen Greater Cincinnati helped fund the following:

- Mammogram referrals: 156
- Patient navigation: 435
- Free or low-cost diagnostic breast health services: 237

- Breast Health Education: 239
